WE HAVE A NEW SUNDAY HOME

We found a new office space rather quickly back in August, but it took us a little longer to find a place for our Sunday Celebrations of Life. We think that the wait was worth it.

Alexander Manor at 1559 Thurston Avenue is where we plan to be for a while. The ambience is charming and there's room for expansion. It's quite accessible and the Number 4 bus runs the full length of Thurston in both directions.

The handsome doorway (above) is the entry for people parking on Thurston or those arriving by bus or cab. Those who park in the basement garage take the elevator to the main floor, a portion of which is shown in the photo below.

The area in which we meet is just beyond the white screens in the upper right of this photo. The entire floor is open to the fresh air and light that streams in from the large lanai pictured below.

Alexander Manor is a full-service apartment building and some of the residents are already choosing to join us for our Celebrations of Life.

Parking in the basement garage is free. The garage is open from 9:30 A.M. until our Celebration of Life begins at 10:00 or until it is full, whichever comes first. Latecomers must seek street parking. Please do not park on sidewalks or in people's driveways. We want to be good neighbors in a very nice neighborhood.

Alexander Manor is a residence and we are guests there, so we ask that those attending our services respect and observe the residence requirements. Please do not bring food or beverages into the building. Finish them outside and dispose of any cups, wrappers, etc. in a responsible fashion.

THIS YEAR'S THANKSGIVING POTLUCK IS ON THANKSGIVING DAY

Bonnie and Jack Prebula will host at their home, 2760 LANILOA ROAD in Pacific Heights. Bonnie will do the turkey and the rest of us will provide the trimmings. Talk story time begins at Noon and you're welcome to drop in any time between then and dinner time, which will be 2:00 P.M.

Parking is definitely limited, so carpooling is strongly suggested.

You can sign up any Sunday at our Celebration of Life. You can also call the office if you're planning to attend. In either case, we need to know how many people will be in your party and what dish you're planning to bring to share.

The maps below may prove useful. The first one shows more streets and the other one zeroes right in.

The easiest way to find the Prebula home is to take the Pacific Heights Road exit off the Pali Highway. Follow Pacific Heights Road for just over a mile – it winds a lot, but you will come upon Laniloa Road. Take a right turn and proceed to 2760.

If you think you're lost, you can always call Bonnie,526-1536.

Check out the alternate format for our monthly spiritual mind treatment and see why this is called paradise. The scrolling text is intended for reading aloud but if that isn't your cup of tea, not to worry, a plain-text version follows in the lower part of the screen.

You can also access scrolling versions of our archived treatments by using the Treatment Index and related links located at the top and the bottom of each treatment page.
